Tonight the Maumee Lady Panthers visited Bowling Green for the first NLL Conference match of the season. The Bowling Green team proved stronger and won 4-1.

At the #1 Singles position, Bowling Green’s Lucy Busselle by a score of 7-6, 6-1. This match was a closely contested one where both players seemed to have troubles with their serves. The wind was an issue on the North court and it seemed when one of these players served from that court, they had numerous double faults.

The #2 singles position saw Willow Wymer beat Claire Waller by a score of 6-1, 6-1. Claire had problems with the wind also, and Willow was able to get every ball back.

The #3 singles position was won overwhelmingly by Maumee’s Lindsey Krist by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Lindsey really served well in this match and the Abby Utz, the BG player, had trouble keeping the ball in play. Her frustration showed and Lindsey smartly took advantage of this and won the match. Kudos to Lindsey for really serving well.

#1 Doubles was won by BG’s Q. Beeker/F. Zhang by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Maumee’s Kayla Harrigan and Julia Becker had trouble with unforced errors in this match which helped BG win.

#2 Doubles was won by BG’s J. Sickler/M. Harrington over Allie Karrenbauer and Makayla Gast by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Unforced errors by Maumee simply caused the loss here, with BG’s duo simply playing better.

Maumee is now 4-2 and play Rossford tomorrow at the Glenwood Courts in Perrysburg off of I 795.
