The Maumee freshmen girls basketball team ran into a buzz saw in its second game of the season, falling 51-9 to Northview.
The Panthers normal roster was down to only six girls against the Wildcats. Sky Janes led Maumee with four points, and Haven Thomas hit a 3-pointer in the first quarter.
“Overall the girls fought hard, being down to only six girls against a very talented Northview team,” Panthers freshmen coach James Pierce said. “I saw a lot of great things last night from the team which I hope to grow on once we come back.
“This group of freshmen are hard workers and can do great things as long as they stick together and continue to grow as a group.”
Northview took a 16-3 lead at halftime and went up 30-3 by halftime.
