With a huge crowd on hand, as Maumee celebrated Senior Night (David Walker, Garret White, and Zach Freeman) and 2020 Maumee HS Athletic Hall of Fame inductees and Distinguished Alumni award winners!! Douglas J. Brainard, Dr. Pamela J. Oatis, Dr. Shanda Gore, Dr. Katie Stiles, Dr. Neil Buchanan, Karyn (Heaney) Thompson, Drew Parry, and Lindsay (Diegel) Turner, Maumee lost a battle to an NLL rival, Springfield 61-68.

The Blue Devils down 4 points at halftime went on a 14-3 third-quarter run to propelled them to victory. This game was physical and well played by both teams. As the season has progressed, Maumee has shown great strides as they battled against an 11-8 Blue Devils team. At one point Maumee was leading 24-11 with great passes and huge buckets. However, foul trouble and Springfield’s ability to crash the boards (rebounding) which turned into 22 second-chance points, was too much to overcome.

Maumee was led by David Walker with 19 points 5 assists and 5 rebounds, Garret White with 14 points, 12 monstrous rebounds and 2 blocks, Zach Freeman 9 points, Reed Geiger 7 points, and 5 rebounds, and Michael Pacer 6 points, and 5 rebounds. Maumee’s sophomore Cole Graetz (4 points and 3 rebounds), and Freshman Jaden Walker (4 rebounds) continue to make huge strides in limited action.
