Another tough battle for the JV Panthers. Anthony Wayne came out to play Tuesday night. The first half started out fast for the Generals, as the kept pressure on the Panthers defense fore the first 15 minutes. The Panthers were able to hold them to no goals for the time being. The defense as a whole did a great job holding them back. Freshman Bobby Flagg made some big saves in his first appearance in goal. The Generals were able to sneak one in late in the first half to give them a 1-0 lead. And they got the second goal on a break away up the middle.
The Panthers came out the second half with a lot of energy and moving forward. We kept the pressure on the majority of the half with some good opportunities. Sophmores Ethan Kain and Zach Groneau both played with everything they had and controlled the midfield. Corvion Kelly, Xavier Stuber-Lopez, and Andrew Hiles stepped up their games to lock down the Generals forwards. The Generals were able to sneak in a third goal halfway through the second and that’s how the game finished.
Next The JV Panthers travel to Napoleon next Tuesday. They are out of the toughest part of their schedule, and can look forward to a strong finish.
