Zak Mathias went 2-4, helping the Panthers to a 5-2 victory over Ottawa Hills on Tuesday.
He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Ottawa Hills had no answer for Tyler Archambeau, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Ottawa Hills managed just three hits off Archambeau, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his six innings of work.
Hahn ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
Ottawa Hills jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Ottawa Hills attack began with a single from Gross. More runs came home for Ottawa Hills when Gross scored on an error.
The Panthers pushed across one run in both the fourth inning and the seventh. In the fourth, the Panthers scored on an RBI single by Scott Simon, scoring Mathias.
The Panthers stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fifth, scoring three runs on a groundout by Simon and a two-run single by Mathias.
