Multiple Teams · Maumee Celebrates Three College Signees

On April 11th, the Maumee High School athletic department celebrated three student-athletes who will continue their athletic and academic careers in college.

Lauren Johnson will attend Owens Community College, a NJCAA school and a member of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.  She will play basketball for head coach Michael Llanas.  Lauren also played soccer in the fall and led the basketball team in scoring, 3-pt shooting and FT%.  In addition, Lauren set school records for 3-pt shots made in a game, season and career.

Alissa Schneider will attend Defiance College, an NCAA DIII school and a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, for basketball.  Alissa also plays volleyball and softball for us and finished the basketball season as the team leader in steals, assists, assist to turnover ratio and was one of our leading rebounders.  She was our outstanding defensive player.

Shauna Tubbs will attend Wilkes University, an NCAA DIII school and a member of the United Collegiate Hockey Conference.  Shauna will play hockey for head coach Earl Utter.  Shauna’s teams have earned 3 state championships and 3 trips to Nationals.  She and her family travel well over 25,000 miles each year so she can pursue the sport she loves.
