CHEERLEADING

EMILY HAYNES

Responsibility: Head Varsity Cheerleading, 3rd year

High School: Emily graduated from Otsego High School in 2009.

College: In 2013, Emily received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Bowling Green State University.  In 2015, she received a Master’s Degree in Classroom Technology from Bowling Green State University. Emily is also currently working on a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from BGSU.

Experience: Emily began her coaching career in 2009. She has coached all levels of cheerleading including youth, middle school, high school, and all-star. Prior to coaching at Maumee, Emily coached for 3 years at Springfield High School. While coaching at Springfield, the competitive cheer squad qualified twice for State Competition and was a National qualifier. While at Maumee, Emily coached the 2016-2017 & 2017-2018 state qualifying competitive cheer squad.

 

AMANDA NYE

Responsibility: Head Dance Team, 4th year; Maumee Assistant Cheerleading Coach, 3rd year.  

High School: Amanda is a graduate of Trinity High School. During high school Amanda was a varsity cheerleader, OASSA State Champion 2013, and a Jazz Energy Dancer and Dynamic Dance Force Dancer at Studio 82.

College: Amanda is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Dance Education in the College of Movement and Development. Amanda was also on the BGSU Dance Team for one year and Vice President of University Dance Alliance. She is currently working on her Masters in Early Childhood at The University of Toledo.

Experience: Amanda started coaching career in 2008 at St. Francis De Sales Elementary/Junior High in Parma, Ohio. Amanda’s coaching accomplishments include: CYO 2nd place Team and Duet Champions 2009-2010, OASSA State Championship 5th Place Jazz 2016, OASSA State Championship 9th Place Jazz 2017, 10th Place Pom 2017, OASSA State Championship 16th Place 2017, Jazz 2018 state qualifier, 17th place Pom 2018, 18th place Hip Hop 2018, 2016-2017 & 2017-2018 state qualifying competitive cheer squad. Amanda is currently a teacher/choreographer at Tahyah’s Dance Studio and a teacher at the Toledo School of the Arts.

 

REINA ROSALES

Responsibility: Freshman Cheerleading Coach, 1st year.

High School: Reina is a 2013 graduate of Bowling Green High School. During high school Reina was a cheerleader all 4 years.

College: Reina is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Dance.

Experience: This is Reina’s 1st year coaching even though she has been involved with cheerleading for the past 7 years. She is excited to be a part of the Panther Family!

Family: Reina has a 2 year old daughter who loves to watch dancers & cheerleaders and mimic them.

 

CROSS COUNTRY

SARA ARTHUR

Responsibility: Head Varsity Women’s Cross Country, 1st Year

High School: Sara is a 2003 graduate of Maumee High School.

College: In 2007, Sara received a Bachelor of Science degree in AYA Math Education from Bowling Green State University.  In 2016, she received a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Bowling Green State University.

Experience: This is Sara’s first year coaching at the varsity level.

Family: Sara has been married to her husband for 9 years and they have 3 children 7, 5, and 2 years old.

 

KAREN BREBBERMAN

Responsibility: Head Varsity Men’s Cross Country, 1st Year

High School: Karen is a 1983 graduate of Maumee High School. During her four years, Karen was a standout athlete earning many accolades in cross country and track & field. She served as team captain for both cross country and track her senior year. While running for MHS, her teams won five out of eight possible opportunities to be N.L.L. champions. Karen also was on the Panther basketball team for three years. Karen was a four-time All-NLL selection for cross country and track & field. She earned First-Team all four years in both cross country and track & field.  Karen finished 25th in the state in cross country her junior year. Karen was awarded the Most Valuable Runner all four seasons in cross country and three seasons in track and field. During her time on the cross country courses, she earned four varsity letters, was a two-time all league champ, state qualifier and earned league and district honors. Karen was also an individual runner up while on the cross country team. At the OHSAA State Championships, Karen finished 25th in the state her junior year. In track & field, Karen also earned four varsity letters, earned all league honors and earned seven individual NLL championships in the 400 meter run, the 1600 meter, and 3200 meter relays during her four-year career.  Karen still holds the record in the 1600 meter relay at MHS (4:09.5). Karen is a 2018 Maumee Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee.

College: Karen graduated from Ohio University in 1987 earning a degree in elementary education. She earned her Master’s degree in Library Media at the University of Toledo in 1992.

Experience: Karen continues to give back to Maumee in her free time by coaching middle school track and holds the position of  intramural advisor at Gateway Middle School, which she began in 2000. Karen also held the position of the MHS varsity girls cross country coach in 2012-2015.  

Family: Karen has two daughters, Kelsey (2013) and Morgan (2014), who also graduated from Maumee and ran on both the cross country and track teams as well as swam for MHS.

 

DANCE TEAM

AMANDA NYE

FOOTBALL

MARC GIBSON

Responsibility: Varsity Head Football, 6th year  

High School: Marc graduated from Sidney High School in 1989. He was a varsity letterwinner in football and track.

College: Marc started his college football career at Mount St. Joseph. He then transferred and graduated from Wright State University in 1994.

Experience: Marc has been a varsity football coach for 27 years. He has also coached varsity track for 3 years. Marc previously coached at Brookville, Sidney, and Clyde prior to Maumee. Marc’s coaching accomplishments include: Five teams have finished the regular season 9-1, Seven teams have won league championships, six have qualified for the state playoffs, three have advanced to the regional finals, and one was a state semi-finalist. Marc has been named Coach of the Year at the previous three schools, the recipient of the Sportsmanship and Integrity award, and coached in the Ohio All-Star Game.

Family: Marc has been married for 24 years to Stacey. They have four children, Shelbe, Elijah, Jacob, and Ava. Marc and Stacey are recent first time grandparents, as Shelbe and her husband Ethan are had their first child. Elijah is in the Army National Guard, Jacob is a junior at Bowling Green State University, and Ava is in a freshman at Maumee High School.

 

KEN WALCZAK

Responsibility: Varsity Head Wrestling, 17th year; Assistant Football Coach, 30th year   

High School: Ken is a 1984 graduate of Maumee High School.  He was 1st team all Northern Lakes League Conference in football and a two time Northern Lakes League Conference champion in wrestling. Ken was wrestling team captain when Maumee was the Northern Lakes League Conference champions.

College: Ken graduated from Ashland University in 1988.  He played football there for 4 years. His accomplishments include a 2-year starter in 21 games, 2-time offensive lineman all Heartland Conference, and a member of the 1986 National NCAA Division II playoff team.

Experience: Ken has 16 years’ experience as the head wrestling at Maumee High School. He also has 6 years as an assistant wrestling coach at Maumee High School.  Ken was also an assistant wrestling coach at Rossford High School for 4 years. Ken coached 2 years as a wrestling coach at Gateway Middle School.  Ken has been an assistant football coach with Maumee High School for 26 years. He also spent 4 years as an assistant football coach at Rossford High School. Ken coached 1 year of track at Gateway Middle School.  In 2003 Ken was the Ohio Division 2 wrestling coach of the year. He was head wrestling coach of the 2002, 2003, 2008 & 2009 Northern Lakes League Conference championship teams.

 

KURT KOLBOW  

Responsibility: Varsity Assistant Football Coach

High School: Kurt is a 2011 graduate of Maumee High School. He was a 3-year letterwinner in football, 2-year letterwinner in basketball, and a 2-year letterwinner in baseball. Kurt was honorable mention utility player in football and baseball.  

College: Kurt attended Owens Community College from 2012-2013, Lourdes University in 2014, and is currently enrolled at Bowling Green State University. While attending Lourdes University Kurt played varsity baseball.  

Experience: Kurt has been a varsity assistant football coach for 1 year, a volunteer assistant football coach at Maumee for 4 years and 1 year as a volunteer assistant basketball coach.

Family: Parents Conrad (’75 grad) and Kim (’80 grade); brother Erick (’08 grad), sister Bridgett (’06 grad).  

 

JUSTIN FULTS  

Responsibility: Varsity Assistant Football Coach (Offensive and Defensive Backs)

High School: Justin is a 1995 graduate of Sylvania High School. He played varsity football and baseball.

College: Justin is a 2000 graduate of John Carroll University. Justin was a 3-year varsity football starter. He earned All-Conference and All-Region in 1998.

Experience: Justin started his coaching career at Case Western University in 2002-2003. Justin was an assistant coach at Richmond Heights High School in 2004, head coach & assistant coach at Beachwood High School in 2005-2006, and Maumee High School assistant coach from 2008-2012 and in 2016.

Family: Justin has been married since 2005. Justin and Megan have 3 three children Sloane (9), Ryder (6), and Knox (4).

 

GEORGE FRANCE

Responsibility: Varsity Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Coordinator)

High School: George is a graduate of Northview High School.

College: George is a 2000 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University.

Experience: George has been coaching high school football for 17 years and 5 years of coaching varsity football.

 

NICK MILLER

Responsibility: Varsity and JV Football coach (Defensive Line Coach)

High School: Nick graduated from Maumee High School with an honors diploma. While at Maumee he earned 10 varsity letters in football, wrestling, and track. Nick was all earned all league honors in football, wrestling, and track his senior year along with all academic honors.

College: Nick is a graduate of the University of Toledo.

Experience: This is Nick’s 2nd year coaching at the varsity level. He previously coached both football and wrestling at the middle school and freshman level. This is Nick’s overall 10th year of coaching.    

Family: Nick has been married to his wife for 4 years and have 1 son.

 

CONRAD KOLBOW JR

Responsibility: Head Freshman Football Coach

High School: Conrad is a 1975 graduate of Maumee High School. He earned All League honors in baseball.

College: Conrad attended the University of Toledo in 1976, 1980-1981 and Bluffton University in 1977-1979. While at Bluffton University Conrad was a baseball letter winner.

Experience: Conrad has 18 years of coaching football. He coached 2 years at Ottawa Hills High School as a varsity football assistant, 2 years at Rogers High School as a varsity football assistant, 3 years at Cardinal Stritch High School as a varsity football assistant, 1 year at Cardinal Stritch High School as head coach, and 10 years at Maumee High School as the varsity assistant and freshman coach.

Family: Conrad has been married to wife Kim (’80) for 35 years. They have 3 children Bridgett (’06) , Erick (’08), and Kurt (’11). Bridgett and her husband Chad have two children Camden & Bennett.

 

RAFAEL SOLER

Responsibility: Freshman Football Coach, 1st year

High School: Rafel is a 2008 graduate of Fisher Catholic High School.

College: In 2013, Rafael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Toledo. In 2014, he received a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Toledo.

Experience: Rafael has coached basketball for 3 years at Maumee Valley Country Day School. This is his first experience coaching football and first coaching job at Maumee High School!

 

GOLF

JAKE TAPLEY  

Responsibility: Head Varsity Men’s Golf, 2nd year

High School: Jake is a 2005 graduate of Lake High School. He was a 4-year varsity letter winner in golf.

College: Jake is a 2009 graduate of The Ohio State University.

Experience: This is Jake’s 2nd year coaching at Maumee. Jake was previously the JV golf coach at Bowling Green.  

Family: Jake is married to Sarah. They have a 3-year-old daughter Carolyn and an 8th month old son Owen.

 

BRIAN WARD

Responsibility: Junior Varsity Men’s Golf, 2nd year

 

 

ALLISON WILLIAMS

Responsibility: Head Varsity Women’s Golf, 1st year

High School: Allison is a 2009 graduate of Rossford High School. She graduated in the Top 10 of her class and was on the Honor Roll.

College: Allison is a 2013 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Bowling Green State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree Education.

Experience: This is the beginning of Allison’s coaching journey!

Family: Allison and her husband Blake have fur babies. A dog named Lily and a cat named Venus. They love them but hope to start a family soon!

JOSH FOX

Responsibility: Head Varsity Women’s Soccer, 1st year  

High School: Josh is a 2004 graduate of Whitmer High School. His soccer honors include being 4 year varsity letterman, 1st team all GLL in 2004, District Honorable Mention in 2004, 2nd team all GLL in 2003, and 2 year team captain.

College: Josh attended Adrian College in 2004 where he was a member on the men’s soccer team. Josh then transferred to the University of Toledo where he graduated with in Bachelor of Arts in History and Master’s in Secondary Education.

Experience: Josh’s coaching experience include 2009-2010 Glass City Soccer Club, 2010-2012 Whitmer High School assistant boys varsity soccer coach, and coached girls basketball and soccer at Horizon Science Academy.

Family: Josh is married to Ashley who is a teacher at Gateway Middle School. They have a 2 year old son name Jack.

 

JORDYN GREER

Responsibility: Varsity Assistant Women’s Soccer, 1st year

High School: Jordyn is a graduate of Saint Ursula Academy. She was 1st team All-District, All-State, All-Region, and All-American.  

College: Jordyn is currently a student at the University of Toledo.

Experience: Jordyn has coached younger soccer players through camps and was a mentored with u10 girls.

Family: Jordyn lives in Toledo with her mom (April), dad (Todd), brother (Evan), and sister (Gillian), along with her cat (Chloe) and dog (Ginger).

 

WOMEN’S TENNIS

ELIZABETH MOULTON

Responsibility: Head Varsity Women’s Tennis, 7th year

High School: Elizabeth is a graduate of Birmingham Groves High School (Michigan). She was a 4 year Girls Varsity Tennis Team.

College: Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Marquette University.

Experience: Elizabeth is United States Tennis Association (USTA) trained to teach kids the sport of tennis. She has been coaching 6 years for Maumee High School.

Family: Elizabeth has been married 23 years to Rob. They have two children, Logan who is a Senior at Ohio State University and Lucas who is a Senior at Miami University.

 

VOLLEYBALL

LINDSAY VANNETT

Responsibility: Head Varsity Women’s Volleyball, 6th year.

High School: Lindsay graduated from Bowling Green High School in 2004.

Lindsay was a 2-year varsity letter winner in track, 3-year varsity letter winner in basketball, and 2-year varsity letter winner in volleyball. In volleyball, her team was district runner up in 2002 and 2003. In 2004 Lindsay earned the Most Improved Player in Volleyball and Basketball. She also played in the district’s all star game.

College: Lindsay graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2008. She played club volleyball from 2005-2008 placing 3rd in the nation in 2006 and 2007. She was club president from 2007-2008. She also has received her health certification and will finish her masters in athletic administration and coaching in the spring of 2019.

Experience: Lindsay has been coaching varsity volleyball for 13 years. She has also coached 7 years of middle school and high school basketball. Lindsay has also been an assistant athletic director for 2 years. While coaching at Bowling Green High School her team was NLL Champs in 2005, 2006, and 2007 and were regional qualifiers for 2 of those seasons. Also the Cleveland Volleyball Company in 2009 were national runners up.

Family: Lindsay has married for five years. She and her husband had their first child, a son, Noah in the fall of 2017.

 

ANGIE WANNEMACHER

MIKE VARN

Responsibility: Varsity Assistant Volleyball, 1st year
