The Panthers mensâ varsity soccer team hosted the Napoleon Wildcats in their last regular season game on Tuesday night. Senior forward Bryan Pouter got the offense started early, scoring within the first five minutes off a pass by junior forward Braden Wagener. Later in the half senior midfielder Justin Albright had a successful run and snuck the ball past the Wildcats keeper to make the score 2-0. Less than a minute later, Pouter scored again, and Maumee led at the half 4-0.
Maumee continued dominating the match when in quick succession, Wagener scored off a pass by junior midfielder Kyle Robinson and Nayfack scored to give Maumee a 6-0 lead. The Panthers outshot Napoleon 31-6 overall, and junior Konner Byers, junior Sam LaChapelle and freshman Aidan McGann provided solid defense all night. Nayfack scored once more as well as Senior midfielder Nate Gauthier, and the game ended with a resounding 8-0 win for the Panthers.
