Meet Recap

The Maumee Boys Cross Country team ran to a third-place finish at Saturday’s Clay Eagle Invitational held at the Oregon Recreation Complex. Senior Matt Lucas ran away from the field to capture individual honors. Lucas’ winning time was 16 minutes, 33.5 seconds. Sophomore Sam Sherf (18:04.6) and Senior Michael Board (18:07.8) were 18th and 19th, respectively, in the field of 90 runners. Junior Robert East equalled his second-best time of 18:30.0 to finish 30th and Freshman Reese Shull was 32nd in 18:37.2. Senior Carter Bomeli placed 50th in 19:15.5, Junior Chris Witzler was 55th in 19:28.7, Sophomore Seth Pasquinelli was 73rd in 20:15.9, and Sophomore Shane Koepfer was 76th in 20:36.1. The Panthers will next compete in the Northern Lakes League Championships on Saturday, October 14.
