Meet Recap

Tonight the Bowling Green girls tennis team came to Maumee for the first NLL match of the year. It was really a close match, with Bowling Green narrowly winning by-3 courts to 2.

At #1 singles, Maumee’s Cazie Durham beat C. Beeker 6-2, 6-1. Cazie continues to shine for Maumee and even feeling under the weather with a severe sore throat, she shows poise and maturity for a freshmen.

#2 singles was won by W. Wymer of Bowling Green over P. Caesar of Maumee 6-2, 6-0. Too many unforced errors by Maumee and consistency on BG’s side contributed to the win.

#3 singles was won by Emily Heidbreder of Maumee over M. Harrington by a score of 6-3, 6-4. Some drama occurred all around this court, with outside influences causing disruption. Kudos to Emily for staying in this match and not getting caught up with all that was going on around her.

#1 Doubles was won by BG’s M. Utz/C. Overhulse 6-4, 6-4 over Sarah Demagall and Lindsey Krist of Maumee. This court saw some great tennis and both teams really played well.

#2 Doubles was won by Q. Beeker/F. Zhang of Bowling Green over Makayla Gast and Claire Waller by a score of 6-3, 6-3. The match was well played by both teams on this court.

Maumee is now 7-2. Next week they play Southview on Tuesday.
